UFC 134: Mauricio Rua Vs Forrest Griffin

Published on Tuesday, August 16, 2011

If you bet on sports then you may be familiar with Mauricio Rua and Forrest Griffin. These two UFC veterans have had long careers and a long history against each other. They have both won and lost the UFC light heavyweight championship, and both are trying to get back into contention for the title. They first met at UFC 74 where Griffin choked out Rua for the win. Now they meet again at UFC 134 and the stakes are high.

    Maurico Rua

Rua comes into this fight with two distinct disadvantages; he has lost once already to Griffin and he is not able to last as long in fights as Griffin has. Rua seems to start running out of steam around the fifth round, and that is something that has haunted his career. But Rua knows how to land a punch and a kick with power. He has been a champion because not many fighters have lasted more than a couple of rounds with him. His strength is in his offense, but he may not get a chance to use that against Griffin.

    Forrest Griffin

Online casino UFC fans know that Griffin is fast, agile and able to fight all night long. His speed is what will give him an edge over Rua along with already knowing what it takes to beat Rua. If Rua can land his potent strike on Griffin’s chin, then this fight could be over quickly. But Griffin can wear Rua down and that will be the difference in this fight.

    The Bottom Line

Rua and Griffin come into this fight evenly matched. But Rua’s inability to last into the late rounds will cost him in this fight and put Griffin that much closer to his light heavyweight title fight.

    Pick: Forrest Griffin
