    March Madness Predictions

Published on Wednesday, February 16, 2011

lj-smithThe NCAA basketball betting tournament, March Madness is only a few short weeks away and if you are a good handicapper, you are reading this to get some tips on which teams to consider for your office bracket. This season college basketball betting enthusiasts can expect to see many teams on the bubble in years past finally make it back to the March Madness tournament. Here are some predictions.

The San Diego State Aztecs will be the 2011 edition of the 2010 Butler Bears. Last season Butler came out of nowhere to lose in the finals to Duke. In that game, Butler literally came within two points on two separate occasions to winning the game. This season, San Diego State has put together the strongest campaign in school history, already winning over 20 games. The Aztecs are currently ranked eighth in the AP Top 25 poll, but in comparison to the seven teams ahead of them, they are considered a long shot.

Meanwhile, a team that was originally considered a top four seed in the 2011 tournament is finding themselves on the bubble to even make the tournament. That team is the Michigan State Spartans who opened up the 2010-11 NCAA seasons as the number four seed, and have since dropped to a team outside the AP 25 poll. Michigan State has several decent players, yet they just haven’t been able to close games out. The team started on a four game winning streak, yet now has a record of 14 – 10 through 24 games.

Our pick to win the tournament outright is the Texas Longhorns. Led by Canadians Corey Joseph and Tristan Thompson, the Texas Longhorns are a team made up mostly of freshmen and sophomores. Despite the inexperience, Texas is currently slated to take over the number one seed on the AP 25 poll. What’s more, their current 10 game winning streak has seen them blow opponents out by more than nine points. If they can continue this in the March Madness tournament no team will be able to beat them.
