    Pro Bowl Prediction

Published on Saturday, January 29, 2011

lj-smithSuper Bowl betting enthusiasts we have arrived at the final two weeks of the 2010-11 seasons. It was just a month ago when we were unsure as to whom if any of these NFL betting lines teams would make it to the playoffs. Now while the final two teams spend the next two weeks preparing for the Super Bowl title game in Arlington, Texas, the rest of the NFL will be looking forward to Sunday. On Sunday January 30, 2011 the Pro Bowl game takes place. Here is a preview and prediction of the upcoming game.

For the first time in a few years, this will be the first Pro Bowl where only 30 of the 32 NFL teams will be represented. Normally, all 32 teams send at least one member of their starting roster to play in the game, as the Pro Bowl is the NFL’s version of the All Star game. Despite making the post season for the first time in about seven years, the Seattle Seahawks will have no player making the trip to Honolulu Hawaii.

Meanwhile, the other team that comes as no surprise to not be sending a member of their roster to the Pro Bowl is the AFC’s Cincinnati Bengals. This season, the Bengals went from playoff contender to basement dweller as they went into the season as the defending AFC North Champion, only to see themselves collapse and finish the season with a four and 12 record.

Last season the AFC defeated the NFC in the Pro Bowl by a score of 41 to 34. However the year prior the NFC won the Pro Bowl by a score of 30 to 21. In both years the team representing the conference that lost the Pro Bowl went on to win the Super Bowl. For instance, when the NFC won the Pro Bowl in 2009, the Pittsburgh Steelers won the Super Bowl. Then last year the AFC won the Pro Bowl and the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl.
