Leafs Hoping To Turn Corner In Second Half of Season

Published on Wednesday, December 29, 2010

The Toronto Maple Leafs have given their fans and Stanley Cup online betting long shots fits for the last six years, as they have failed to reach the playoffs. Making matters worse, the Leafs a team that historically does not draft well has traded away the majority of their first round picks to teams that have in turn had much success in the playoffs. This season was speculated as being no different, as sports betting fans of the Leafs discovered that the team still may be a few years away from the playoffs. However, with their most recent win over a struggling New Jersey Devils hockey club, the Leafs appear to be trying to turn a corner as they make a push towards playoff glory.

At the start of the 2010-11 NHL season, the Toronto Maple Leafs surprised the hockey world by winning the first four games of the season. After piling up the first four game win streak since the 2008-09 seasons, fans began to dream of the team turning a corner and finally contending for a playoff spot. No its not a betonline.com scam. However, as luck would have it, the Leafs would only win nine of their next 22 games, with the most recent victory coming on Sunday.

Yet, Sunday also marked some progress for the Leafs, as scoring woes have plagued the team on all season. During the game against the Devils the Leafs exploded for four goals, with three of them coming from their third line checking line. This was a welcome surprised as it seemed that other than the Grabovski, Kulemin and MacArthur line, the Leafs couldn’t score.

With the Leafs finally receiving offense from more than one line and a string of games coming up against fellow bottom the league teams, now is the time to make a playoff push. If the Leafs can get hot right now, it may help them move up in the standings and possibly keep the coaching staff intact for next season.
